Live Ladybugs – A Natural Pest Solution

Product display of live ladybugs

If you are having a bad aphid problem in your garden or backyard, than you might want to consider a chemical free and natural pest solution. Enter the favorite “good bug” commonly called the ladybug. The ladybug has been a popular and well researched beneficial insect over 20 years. The beauty of this bug is that when released around sunset, (required because ladybugs don’t fly at night), they will start munching on aphids, scale insects, leaf hoppers, mealybugs, and mites throughout most of the growing season. As they reduce the destructive pests they will be laying down their own eggs.

Each generation of new ladybugs will be ready to arrive just as new pests show up in your garden. When purchasing the Coccinellids (ladybugs) a bag of of these insects will be rushed delivered to your door with most of the critters likely surviving the trip. You should notice as you release them from the bag that they will naturally crawl up and towards the light. Most recommend that they should be released in small groups at the base of place plants and shrubs. Within a couple days you should see a big reduction in the destructive pest population and hopefully healthier garden or yard.

Do Using Ladybugs Offer A Solution to Garden Pests?

  • Ladybugs eat aphids, mealy bugs, scale, leaf hoppers, and other destructive pests.
  • Keep on eating until the bad guys are gone, laying their own eggs in the process.
  • Ladybugs really work while also doing something favorable for the environment.
  • You will receive 1500 ladybugs in a protective bag.
  • Immediate shipping upon order with handling instructions.

What Are The Shortcomings Of These Garden Live LadyBugs?

  • There is chance to receive a good deal of dead ladybugs in the bag.
  • Garden must be well watered and only able to put them out at dusk, as they do not fly at night.

Customer reviews are a great way to research a product and find out if it truly delivers. Here are a few reviews from owners of the 1500 Live LadyBugs – A Good Bug

I purchased these ladybugs for my daughter’s 4th birthday party which had a ladybug theme. At the end of the party we let all the ladybugs go and I gave each child 3 ladybugs in a container to take home to release in their own garden. It was a big hit! I ordered the ladybugs a little too early but I followed the instructions that came in the box and rinsed the bag with cold tap water and put them in the fridge. 10 days later, I took them out and as soon as they warmed up they were active again (except for a handful – but we had 1500 ladybugs – not a bad attrition rate!). Amazing!

I’m trying to grow a garden for the first time and want to keep away from insecticides. These seem to offer the perfect solution. While some reviewers have complained that you don’t actually receive 1,500 ladybugs and that most of theirs were dead, I found most of mine were alive and seemingly thriving. Are there really 1,500? While it would be nearly impossible to count, I think the true number is likely closer to two or three hundred. This is not a problem though, as there are more than enough to cover my back yard. Overall, I’d rate this a good deal if you’re looking to keep things organic and not spend a fortune.
